€ 200,000 for Children’s aid projects from THOMAS SABO
Once again, the RTL Donation Marathon 2008 proved to be a smash hit for charity.
This year, THOMAS SABO again created the official charity bracelet for the RTL Donation Marathon. During the broadcast of the show, host Wolfram Kons festively presented singer Annie Lennox with the first bracelet, hence launching the limited edition of 2,500 pieces of jewellery.
On the evening of the Donation Marathon, company founder Thomas Sabo showed his total commitment to the event, personally taking calls from helpful and charitable viewers during the show.
And the THOMAS SABO staff at the company’s headquarters spent the evening manning the hotline in aid of the charity bracelet. With tremendous enthusiasm, they gave up their free time, taking orders from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
As a result of the extremely positive response on the hotline and on the Internet, the charity bracelets were soon sold out. Those unable to acquire the coveted bracelet during the show can now only hope that they will be able to purchase one of the few remaining ones at THOMAS SABO shops.
Due to the positive development, Thomas Sabo fulfilled the promise he made at the beginning of the show and doubled the proceeds from the sale of the charity bracelet of just under € 100,000, adding a further € 100,000 from his own pocket and donating a total of € 200,000. All proceeds will be given in full to the children’s aid projects supported by the RTL Donation Marathon.
