25 YEARS OF THOMAS SABO

2009 is a very special year in the history of THOMAS SABO: for a quarter of a century, the company has been creating ever new stunning and successful jewellery collections – year after year after year. The perfect occasion to take a look back at the company’s development.

The, at the time, 23-year-old Thomas Sabo could not have imagined in his wildest dreams that his spontaneous business idea would one day become one of the world’s leading jewellery companies with around 800 employees worldwide. Nevertheless, he believed in himself and – on May 8, 1984 – he founded THOMAS SABO in the Franconian town of Lauf. Over the years, he has put his heart and soul into building up the brand and launching his own designs.

In 1990, Thomas Sabo was able to secure the services of designer Susanne Kölbli as the Creative Director for his still young enterprise. Together, they gave all the future collections their unique look. The concept – to offer high-end silver jewellery – soon made an impact.

In 1998, the company finally opened the first THOMAS SABO shop in Germany, located in Frankfurt am Main. Further exclusive stores and shops-in-shops were opened in quick succession – with meanwhile more than 120 spread over all five continents. Further sales channels are the around 2,000 retailers and parts of the in-flight product lines for approximately 40 airlines throughout the world.

With innovative ideas and with consistent success, THOMAS SABO has developed into one of the leading lifestyle brands for men and women.
With its three product lines – THOMAS SABO Sterling Silver, THOMAS SABO Charm Club and, absolutely new, THOMAS SABO Watches – the company offers a coherent overall range of extraordinary diversity.
